if you plan on having anything but a human, you better read this or else it won't be accepted.
the gifted -
seeing as the idea of the site and 'The Gifted' came to me mostly during an episode of heroes, but pretty much had nothing to do with the show, i found a list of abilities on the wiki. click here to view it. all sorts of abilities are possible, even shape shifting. not all abilities applied for will be accepted and you're welcome to look on other sites, besides the wiki, for more powers or information on them. only one power allowed per character unless permission is given by the admin. like all role playing, no god modding; even the gifted have weaknesses. most powers don't truly show up until their early teens but there are signs when they are young, especially during extremely emotional states.
the gifted naturally look a little different then humans, they're eyes are normally a bit brighter and their pupils are slightly more slit shaped but not by too much. it is rare to find a pure blooded gifted with dark dark skin as like their eyes, their skin is naturally light or tanned. the same goes for their hair, unless dyed by the person it's rare to find a gifted with dark dark hair. lastly, their birth marks are a bit more different then a human's and are most likely around the hip or inner thigh area. they live slightly longer lives then a human but not much longer and they tend to age more gracefully.
HALF BREEDS WITH GIFTED BLOOD not everyone can be a pure gifted, it's impossible as they're not an every day kind of common. there is a good chance for half breeds as the years go on and the amount of pure bloods get less and less. not every half breed can have an ability and after a while i will bring down the ban hammer if too many people apply for half breeds with an ability. the gifted try to stay away from vampires and lycans but relationships with them are possible but not common and the traits of a vampire or lycan are dominant over the gifted and so there is an even less likely chance for a half breed to have an ability. just like with the chance for ability, their looks are dominated by their other side and not so much by their gifted side.
most gifted, half breed and pure bloods can kind of sense each other. it's said to be something to do with their ancestors and the old world but no one really knows for sure.
the vampires -
our vampires do not sparkle or turn to ash in the sun, i'm sorry but they just don't. vampires can have children, males are more fertile then females. pure blooded vampires can go into the sun of course but prolonged exposure can cause them to get weak and sick feeling and staying out in the direct sunlight for too long can kill them. vampires here are not immortal, they just live for an extremely long time. though they can be killed by getting their bodies ripped up and burned. it's very rare but it is possible for vampires to have powers, some say it's became a long time ago the first vampire was created from a gifted. humans and gifted can be turned into vampires, but any turnings must be admin approved and we don't want a bunch of newborns running around. turning consists of nearly draining the person of their blood and then feeding your own blood to them.
a gifted turned into a vampire is less likely to keep their ability but it is possible, but that as well must be admin approved please. remember, vampires and lycans are mortal enemies! there is a small chance for them being civil but they have a natural and strong dislike for each other. all vampires, pure blooded or half breed, drink blood; whether it be human or animal is their choice and how they acquire it is their choice as well. though half breeded vampires can sustain themselves on human food more so then blood, but will be weaker then purebloods and even other half breeds if they don't drink blood often enough. they appear to be slightly more pale and their eyes or dull. born and turned vampires have no heart beat. all vampires have the natural ability to heal quickly, have higher senses and are much stronger then humans.
HALF BREEDS WITH VAMPIRE BLOOD as i said, vampires can have children. most try to have children with other vampires but can occasionally have a child with a human or gifted. NO LYCAN/VAMPIRE RELATIONS/CHILDREN ALLOWED AT THIS TIME. if a child is born from a vampire and a gifted, the child is less likely to have an ability. the traits of the vampire dominate the traits of the human or gifted. half breeds have a heart beat and live shorter, but still quite long, lives compared to a pure blood. they can also be killed much easier, even bleed to death but they do heal. just slower then a pure blood. half breeds can not be turned into full vampires and can not turn others into vampires.
all vampires have fangs of course, but along with they healing they have a natural knack of hiding them. though it's a lot easier for pure blooded or bitten vampires then it would be for a half blooded vampire.
the lycans -
the lycans are generally human unless it's close to the full moon or shortly after one. lycans are ruled by the moon and tend to change for the first time during their teens; after puberty. a day before the full moon their hormones tend to increase, including anger and lust. during the full moon the lycan is a very vicious creature and has no memory of it's human life. they looks like a mutated wolf, but there isn't much difference but what differences there is are very noticeable. after a full moon the human feels quite weak and extremely hungry, most lycans favor meats and such over other foods. strong willed and older lycans can resist the call of the moon if they lock themselves up indoors and avoid all moonlight. if they expose themselves to direct moonlight, not obscured by anything, they will change. young and newly changed lycans have no chance of resisting, though born lycans have a bit more control as they get older; turned do not. in order to become a lycan, a lycan must bite a human or gifted during the full moon. the infected will then begin to notice certain things about themselves changing and by the next full moon they will know whether or not they are completely infected. some of those bitten only get certain heightened senses but more then likely they are completely changed and will transform during every full moon from then on. they aren't immortal but they do live somewhat longer lives then humans. if a gifted is bitten and successfully changed they lose their power completely, something to do with the lycan blood. as the time between one full moon to the next passes they will begin to feel their power weaken. lycans during their human state have higher senses and are stronger then human but their appearance can vary quite extensively unlike a human or vampire's. most lycans don't even realize what they are and have no memories of their actions during their change.
HALF BREEDS WITH LYCAN BLOOD Lycans can and well have children and are as fertile as humans, if not a bit more. a female must resist the call of the moon, see above, her last couple of months of pregnancy or else she will lose the child which is why, even fertile as they are; born lycans are more rare. half breed lycans have less chance of changing during a full moon, but they do have higher senses and strength. those that do change during the full moon look less mutated and look like more like wolves. half breeds live pretty human lives, though they do crave meat and such more so then humans like pure blood lycans do. they do tend to get weak around the full moon, even if they don't change. for those that do manage to change, their first change is usually during their late teens or early twenties.
